How to use the Paycheck Calculator
The paycheck calculator is easy to use.
- Select Your Pay Type: Choose whether you’re paid hourly or on a salary. This will customize the calculator for your specific pay structure.
- Enter Your Pay Information:
- For hourly pay, input your hourly rate and the number of hours worked, including any overtime, most oilfield and trucking companies pay 1.5x overtime after a certain amount of hours, usually 8 hours per day or 10 hours per day.
- For salary, enter your annual salary and select how often you’re paid (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly).
- Choose Your Country and State/Province: Select your country and then pick your state (if you’re in the U.S.) or province (if you’re in Canada). The calculator will automatically apply the correct federal and state/provincial tax rates. We added the tax rates as per our best sources and we also added the different tax brackets some states and provinces have.
- Input Deductions: You can manually input any federal and state/provincial tax percentages, as well as other deductions like health insurance or retirement contributions.
- Calculate Your Paycheck: Once everything is filled out, click the “Calculate Paycheck” button to see your gross pay, total deductions, and net pay.
