Subway Nutrition Calculator

Subway is one of the most customizable restaurant menus, which means two sandwiches with the same protein can have very different nutrition totals depending on size, format and recipe. This Subway Nutrition Calculator lets you compare popular Subway sandwiches, Footlongs, wraps and protein bowls while calculating calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat and sodium for the meal you select.

Choose a Subway menu item and serving format to see its nutrition, or switch to the Full Meal Builder to combine two menu items in one calculation. The calculator also works as a Subway Calories Calculator for comparing 6-inch sandwich calories, Footlong calories, wraps, protein bowls, protein, macros and sodium before you order.

Subway Nutrition Calculator

Calculate Subway calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat and sodium for 6-inch sandwiches, Footlongs, wraps, protein bowls and complete meal combinations.

Nutrition source: This calculator uses current U.S. Subway nutrition data. Subway menu items, ingredients and nutrition can change over time and can differ outside the United States. Check the official Subway Nutrition & Allergies page for the latest information.

How to Use the Subway Nutrition Calculator

Start by choosing the format of your order. The calculator includes 6-inch sandwiches, estimated Footlong sandwiches, wraps and protein bowls where current U.S. nutrition data is available.

Next, choose the Subway sandwich or entrée you want to calculate. The menu includes popular options such as Grilled Chicken, Oven-Roasted Turkey, Tuna, B.M.T., Meatball Marinara, Steak Philly, Subway Club, Black Forest Ham and Veggie Delite.

Choose the quantity and press Calculate Subway Nutrition. The results show calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat and sodium.

Switch to the Full Meal Builder when you want to combine two Subway menu items. This can be useful when comparing two smaller items, ordering food for more than one person or calculating a larger meal.

If you want to compare the meal with your overall daily energy needs, use our Calorie Calculator to estimate your maintenance calories and daily calorie target.

Subway Nutrition Chart

A Subway nutrition chart is useful because calories alone do not show the complete difference between menu items. Two subs can have similar calories but noticeably different amounts of protein, fat or sodium.

Subway Calorie Chart

The calorie difference between Subway sandwiches can be substantial even when every item is the same 6-inch size.

Meatball Marinara5701,140
Tuna5701,140
B.M.T.6101,220
Spicy Italian6801,360

These numbers illustrate why size is one of the biggest variables in a Subway order. A Footlong contains roughly twice the food of the corresponding 6-inch sandwich, so calories and macros can rise rapidly.

Subway 6-Inch Calories

Six-inch sandwiches are useful for calorie comparisons because most of Subway’s published sandwich nutrition is organized around the 6-inch serving.

Among the current menu items included in this calculator, 6-inch sandwich totals range from the low hundreds to well over 600 calories depending on the recipe.

Protein, cheese and sauce choices explain part of that difference, while ingredients such as salami, pepperoni, tuna mixtures and creamy sauces can raise fat and calories substantially.

Subway Footlong Calories

A simple way to estimate a Footlong is to double the corresponding 6-inch nutrition when the Footlong consists of two equivalent 6-inch portions. That is the method used by this calculator.

For example, a 510-calorie 6-inch Grilled Chicken sandwich becomes approximately 1,020 calories when doubled into a Footlong estimate. A 570-calorie Meatball Marinara becomes approximately 1,140 calories.

Real orders can differ when the amount of sauce, cheese, vegetables or other toppings does not scale exactly with sandwich length, so use the Footlong number as a practical estimate.

Subway Wrap Calories

A Subway wrap should not be treated as simply a 6-inch sandwich without bread. The wrap has its own base and typically uses a larger protein portion, so the nutrition can differ substantially.

For example, the current data lists the Oven-Roasted Turkey wrap at approximately 610 calories, compared with 480 calories for the 6-inch sandwich. Tuna is approximately 900 calories as a wrap versus 570 calories as a 6-inch sandwich.

The calculator therefore uses separate wrap values instead of applying a generic multiplier to the 6-inch sandwich.

Subway Protein Bowl Nutrition

Protein bowls remove the sandwich bread and place the fillings over vegetables, but that does not automatically make every bowl low in calories or sodium.

Protein Bowl Calories Protein Carbs Sodium
Veggie Delite15010 g10 g320 mg
Sweet Onion Teriyaki Chicken30023 g35 g1,100 mg
Veggie Patty30013 g28 g820 mg

Oven-Roasted Turkey41021 g11 g910 mg
Subway Club44024 g14 g1,310 mg

Subway Protein Chart

People searching for Subway macros are often interested in protein as much as calories. Looking at both values together makes it easier to compare how much protein each menu item provides for its calorie total.

Grilled Chicken31 g510
Subway Club31 g500

Subway Turkey Calories

The current U.S. dataset used by this calculator lists the 6-inch Oven-Roasted Turkey at approximately 480 calories, 26 grams of protein, 42 grams of carbohydrates, 23 grams of fat and 1,150 milligrams of sodium.

The Oven-Roasted Turkey wrap is approximately 610 calories, while the protein bowl is approximately 410 calories.

This is a good example of why comparing formats matters. Removing bread does not simply subtract a fixed number of calories because Subway’s wraps and bowls can use different portions and recipes.

Subway Tuna Calories

The 6-inch Tuna is approximately 570 calories with 27 grams of protein, 42 grams of carbohydrates, 33 grams of fat and 950 milligrams of sodium in the current U.S. menu data.

The Tuna wrap is substantially higher at approximately 900 calories, while the Tuna protein bowl is approximately 410 calories.

Tuna is therefore a good reminder that removing bread does not automatically make every menu choice lower in total fat. The tuna mixture itself contributes a substantial amount of fat.

Subway BMT Calories

The current 6-inch B.M.T. is listed at approximately 610 calories with 27 grams of protein, 44 grams of carbohydrates, 36 grams of fat and 1,500 milligrams of sodium.

Using two equivalent 6-inch portions produces an estimated Footlong total of approximately 1,220 calories before any changes to the standard recipe.

Subway Meatball Marinara Calories

The 6-inch Meatball Marinara is approximately 570 calories with 27 grams of protein, 53 grams of carbohydrates, 28 grams of fat and 1,370 milligrams of sodium.

The current wrap version is approximately 890 calories. An estimated Footlong based on two 6-inch portions is approximately 1,140 calories.

Subway Sodium

Sodium can be one of the largest numbers in a Subway meal even when calories appear moderate.

Several current 6-inch sandwiches in the menu data exceed 1,000 milligrams of sodium, and some approach or exceed 1,500 milligrams before a Footlong portion is considered.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration uses a Daily Value of 2,300 milligrams of sodium for general nutrition labeling. See the FDA’s Daily Value guidance for more information.

Anyone following a medically prescribed sodium limit should use their healthcare professional’s guidance rather than relying on a general Daily Value.

Subway Bread Calories

Bread contributes a large share of the carbohydrates in a standard Subway sandwich. In the current U.S. ingredient data, a 6-inch Artisan Italian bread serving is approximately 210 calories with 39 grams of carbohydrates, while Hearty Multigrain is approximately 200 calories with 36 grams of carbohydrates.

That does not mean bread alone determines the sandwich total. Protein, cheese and sauce can change calories, fat and sodium significantly.

Subway Sauce Calories

Sauce is one of the easiest parts of a Subway order to overlook because the serving looks small, but calorie density varies considerably.

Current ingredient data lists a regular 6-inch serving of mayonnaise at about 100 calories, while yellow mustard is approximately 10 calories. Olive oil blend and vinegar is approximately 45 calories.

Mayonnaise: about 100 calories per 6-inch serving
Yellow Mustard: about 10 calories per 6-inch serving
Olive Oil Blend & Vinegar: about 45 calories per 6-inch serving

This means switching sauce can change the calorie total without changing the sandwich protein or bread.

How to Build a Lower-Calorie Subway Order

The most effective calorie changes usually come from the largest components rather than tiny vegetable differences.

  • Compare a 6-inch sandwich with the Footlong before ordering.
  • Compare the sandwich with the corresponding protein bowl when available.
  • Choose leaner protein options when they fit your preferences.
  • Pay attention to creamy sauces and mayonnaise.
  • Consider mustard or other lower-calorie condiments.
  • Add vegetables for volume without a large calorie increase.
  • Check cheese portions if reducing calories or saturated fat.
  • Look at sodium as well as calories.
  • Use the calculator to compare several combinations before ordering.

Subway Calories and Your Daily Intake

A restaurant meal does not exist in isolation. The relevance of a 500-, 800- or 1,200-calorie order depends partly on your total daily energy requirements and the rest of your food intake.

The calculator includes an optional daily calorie target field. If you enter 2,000 calories and your Subway meal contains 500 calories, the calculator will display the meal as 25% of that entered target.

If you are also monitoring body size, our BMI Calculator can calculate Body Mass Index and a weight range for your height.

Why Subway Nutrition Changes With Customization

Subway is more customizable than many restaurant chains. Bread, meat, cheese, vegetables, sauces and serving format can all be changed individually.

That flexibility is useful, but it also means a menu name alone may not perfectly describe the sandwich you actually eat. Extra cheese, additional sauce, double protein or a different bread can change the final nutrition.

The current calculator uses published standard menu-item totals rather than pretending it can know exactly how much of every topping an individual restaurant employee adds.

This approach also avoids a common problem with ingredient calculators: adding individual ingredient rows does not always recreate the official standardized sandwich total exactly because portion assumptions and recipes can differ.

Subway Nutrition Accuracy

The calculator is based on current U.S. Subway nutrition information, but restaurant nutrition should still be treated as an estimate.

Menu items can be updated, limited-time products can appear or disappear, ingredients can vary by market and preparation can differ slightly between restaurants.

Subway also operates internationally, so nutrition values for a product sold in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia or another country may not match the U.S. values used here.

Always check the official Subway nutrition page when you need the latest restaurant information.

Subway Allergens

A nutrition calculator is not an allergen checker. Knowing the calories, protein or carbohydrates in a sandwich does not establish whether it is safe for someone with a food allergy.

Subway publishes separate allergen and ingredient information through its nutrition page. Anyone with a serious allergy should review current official information and speak directly with restaurant staff about ingredients and possible cross-contact.

Comparing Restaurant Nutrition

Restaurant meals can be difficult to compare because serving sizes and customization differ. A Footlong Subway sandwich should not be compared directly with a single burger or steak entrée without also considering the amount of food and any sides.

Using separate restaurant calculators lets you build the meal first and then compare total calories, protein and other nutrients on the same basis.

If you are eating with a group and want to calculate the bill afterward, our Tip Calculator can calculate the tip and split the total between multiple people.

Final Thoughts

A Subway order can be relatively simple or extremely customized, which is why looking up only the calories in one ingredient often does not tell you much about the final meal. Size, protein, format, sauce and recipe can all change the nutrition.

The Subway Nutrition Calculator makes the biggest comparisons easy. You can compare a 6-inch sandwich with an estimated Footlong, see how the same menu item changes as a wrap or protein bowl, compare protein and calories, and combine multiple menu items in the Full Meal Builder.

It is also useful to look beyond calories. Protein, carbohydrates, fat and especially sodium can differ dramatically between sandwiches that appear similar in size.

Use the calculator as a planning tool and check Subway’s current official nutrition and allergen information when exact ingredients or medical dietary restrictions matter. Menu recipes and regional nutrition can change over time.
