How to Use the Texas Roadhouse Nutrition Calculator
Start by selecting the entrée you plan to order. The calculator includes Texas Roadhouse steaks, ribs, Texas Size Combos, chicken dishes, country dinners, seafood, burgers, sandwiches and several entrée salads.
Next, select your two side dishes. Many Texas Roadhouse dinner entrées are served with two sides, and the side choices can change the calorie total almost as much as changing the entrée itself.
You can also add servings of fresh-baked bread. Bread is kept separate because the number of rolls or servings a person eats can vary considerably before and during the meal.
Choose a dessert and beverage if you want them included. Switch to the Full Nutrition Builder to add an appetizer, butter, cheese, bacon, sour cream, barbecue sauce or salad dressing.
Press Calculate Texas Roadhouse Nutrition to see the complete meal total. In addition to calories, the calculator displays estimated protein, carbohydrates, total fat, saturated fat, sodium, sugar, fiber and cholesterol.

Texas Roadhouse Nutrition Chart
Texas Roadhouse has a large menu, so there is no single meaningful calorie number for a “Texas Roadhouse meal.” A lean sirloin with lower-calorie sides can be hundreds or even thousands of calories below a large ribeye meal with loaded sides, bread, an appetizer and dessert.
| Menu Item | Calories | Protein | Fat | Sodium |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6 oz. USDA Choice Sirloin | 250 | 46 g | 6 g | 560 mg |
| 8 oz. USDA Choice Sirloin | 340 | 61 g | 8 g | 740 mg |
| 12 oz. Ft. Worth Ribeye | 960 | 78 g | 72 g | 1,180 mg |
| Half Slab Ribs | 900 | 72 g | 63 g | 1,400 mg |
| Grilled BBQ Chicken | 300 | 46 g | 3.5 g | 450 mg |
| Herb Crusted Chicken | 260 | 47 g | 4 g | 1,210 mg |
| 5 oz. Grilled Salmon | 410 | 27 g | 33 g | 770 mg |
| All-American Cheeseburger | 880 | 50 g | 55 g | 1,970 mg |
The important point is that the entrée is only the beginning. Many steak and chicken dinners come with two sides, and diners frequently eat bread before the entrée arrives.
Texas Roadhouse Steak Calories
Steak calories vary enormously according to the cut and portion size. Lean sirloin is considerably lower in calories and fat than a large ribeye or prime rib.
The 6-ounce USDA Choice Sirloin is listed at approximately 250 calories with 46 grams of protein. By comparison, a 12-ounce Ft. Worth Ribeye is approximately 960 calories.
That difference comes largely from fat content. The 6-ounce sirloin contains about 6 grams of fat in the published nutrition data, while the 12-ounce ribeye contains about 72 grams.
Texas Roadhouse Sirloin Calories
| Sirloin Size | Calories | Protein | Fat |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 oz. | 250 | 46 g | 6 g |
| 8 oz. | 340 | 61 g | 8 g |
| 11 oz. | 460 | 84 g | 11 g |
| 16 oz. | 670 | 122 g | 16 g |
The sirloin stands out because its protein rises quickly with portion size without the same calorie increase seen in fattier cuts. The 16-ounce sirloin is listed at 122 grams of protein and 670 calories before sides or toppings.
Texas Roadhouse Ribeye Calories
The Ft. Worth Ribeye is a much higher-fat cut than the sirloin. The 12-ounce version is approximately 960 calories, the 14-ounce version about 1,120 calories and the 16-ounce version about 1,280 calories before side dishes.
That means simply changing from a 6-ounce sirloin to a 16-ounce ribeye can add more than 1,000 entrée calories before anything else on the table changes.

Texas Roadhouse Ribs Calories
Texas Roadhouse Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs are another calorie-dense entrée. A half slab is approximately 900 calories before sides, while a full slab is approximately 1,450 calories.
The full slab also contains more than 100 grams of protein, but the calorie and fat totals are significantly higher than a lean steak or grilled chicken entrée.
Texas Size Combos combine ribs with steak or chicken, so the calories can rise quickly even before the two included side dishes are selected.
Texas Roadhouse Chicken Calories
Chicken dishes span a very wide calorie range because preparation matters as much as the meat itself.
| Chicken Entrée | Calories | Protein |
|---|---|---|
| Herb Crusted Chicken | 260 | 47 g |
| Grilled BBQ Chicken | 300 | 46 g |
| Smothered Chicken with Cream Gravy | 330 | 48 g |
| Portobello Mushroom Chicken | 430 | 58 g |
| Chicken Critters | 480 | 45 g |
| Country Fried Chicken | 770 | 48 g |
Herb Crusted Chicken and Grilled BBQ Chicken are two of the lower-calorie high-protein entrées in the nutrition data. Breading, frying, cheese and gravy generally increase calories substantially.
Texas Roadhouse Side Calories
Because many entrées include two sides, side selection is one of the most important parts of calculating the complete meal.
| Side | Calories |
|---|---|
| Green Beans | 100 |
| Applesauce | 110 |
| Sautéed Mushrooms | 120 |
| Sautéed Onions | 150 |
| Buttered Corn | 190 |
| Fresh Vegetables | 190 |
| House Side Salad | 230 |
| Mashed Potatoes | 260 |
| Sweet Potato | 350 |
| Seasoned Rice | 360 |
| Steak Fries | 360 |
| Baked Potato | 380 |
| Mac & Cheese | 380 |
| Caesar Side Salad | 440 |
Two sides can therefore add anywhere from roughly 200 calories for a pair of lighter options to more than 800 calories for higher-calorie combinations before extra toppings are considered.
Texas Roadhouse Rolls Calories
The fresh-baked bread is easy to overlook because it often arrives before the entrée, but it still contributes to the meal total.
The published fresh-baked bread serving used in this calculator contains approximately 200 calories, 28 grams of carbohydrates, 8 grams of fat and 5 grams of protein.
Whipped butter adds another approximately 90 calories per tablespoon in the nutrition data used by the calculator.
That is why the calculator allows bread and butter to be added separately rather than automatically assuming everyone eats the same amount.
Texas Roadhouse Appetizer Calories
Appetizers are often intended for sharing, so the number shown on the menu may represent food eaten by several people rather than one person’s portion.
Some appetizers are still large enough to change the total meal dramatically. The nutrition dataset lists the Cactus Blossom at more than 2,000 calories for the complete appetizer, while Tater Skins and regular Cheese Fries also exceed 1,000 calories.
If four people divide an appetizer evenly, a practical personal estimate is roughly one quarter of the published nutrition total. The calculator currently adds the full appetizer, so divide the appetizer numbers manually if you are only eating a portion.
Texas Roadhouse Dessert Calories
Desserts are another part of the menu where one selection can add as many calories as an entrée.
The Big Ol’ Brownie is listed at approximately 1,200 calories, Granny’s Apple Classic at approximately 1,110 calories and Strawberry Cheesecake at approximately 800 calories.
A dessert shared between two or more people obviously changes the amount each person consumes, but the calculator intentionally starts with the full published item so the serving can be adjusted based on the portion actually eaten.
Texas Roadhouse Protein
Texas Roadhouse has several entrées with large amounts of protein. Steak is an obvious example, but grilled chicken can provide a large amount of protein with considerably fewer calories than some steak cuts.
The 6-ounce sirloin provides approximately 46 grams of protein for 250 calories. Herb Crusted Chicken is listed at approximately 47 grams of protein and 260 calories, while Grilled BBQ Chicken has around 46 grams of protein for 300 calories.
At the opposite end, very large steaks can contain more than 100 grams of protein but also provide substantially more calories, particularly when the cut contains more fat.
If you are comparing body weight with height as part of a broader fitness plan, our BMI Calculator provides a quick Body Mass Index estimate.
Texas Roadhouse Sodium
Sodium can become very high once an entrée, two sides, sauces and appetizer are combined. Looking only at calories can hide this part of the nutrition profile.
Some prepared sides contain substantial sodium even when they are not extremely high in calories. The published nutrition data used here lists green beans above 1,000 milligrams of sodium and steak fries near 2,000 milligrams.
The FDA uses a Daily Value of 2,300 milligrams of sodium for general nutrition-label guidance. A restaurant meal can reach or exceed that amount relatively quickly depending on the selections. See the FDA’s Daily Value guidance.
How to Build a Lower-Calorie Texas Roadhouse Meal
The largest calorie reductions usually come from changing the largest components of the meal rather than worrying about tiny differences between condiments.
- Choose a 6-ounce sirloin instead of a large ribeye or prime rib.
- Consider Herb Crusted Chicken or Grilled BBQ Chicken.
- Choose lower-calorie sides such as green beans or applesauce.
- Limit the amount of bread and butter eaten before the meal.
- Skip or share high-calorie appetizers.
- Request sauces or dressings separately when practical.
- Choose water, unsweetened tea or a zero-calorie beverage.
- Share dessert rather than automatically eating the entire item.
The calculator makes these swaps easy to compare. Keep the entrée selected and simply change one side at a time to see how much the total moves.

Example Texas Roadhouse Meal Calculations
6 oz. Sirloin With Green Beans and Applesauce
The 6-ounce sirloin is approximately 250 calories. Green beans add approximately 100 calories and applesauce adds 110 calories, bringing the three selected components to about 460 calories before bread, butter or a beverage.
12 oz. Ribeye With Baked Potato and Steak Fries
The 12-ounce Ft. Worth Ribeye is approximately 960 calories. Add a 380-calorie baked potato and 360-calorie steak fries and the meal reaches approximately 1,700 calories before bread, butter, toppings or drinks.
Herb Crusted Chicken With Two Lower-Calorie Sides
Herb Crusted Chicken is approximately 260 calories. Pairing it with green beans and applesauce produces an estimated 470-calorie combination before bread or beverages.
What Surprised Me While Building This Calculator
While comparing the menu data for this calculator, the biggest surprise was how much the choice of steak cut matters. It would be easy to assume that moving from one steak to another mainly changes the portion size, but the fat content creates an enormous difference. A 6-ounce sirloin is only about 250 calories, while a 12-ounce ribeye is close to 1,000 calories.
The sides were the second thing that stood out. Green beans and applesauce are close to 100 calories each, while several potato, pasta and salad choices are hundreds of calories. When an entrée includes two sides, those choices can easily change the meal by several hundred calories without changing the steak at all.
The bread also deserves its own control in the calculator. It is easy to think of the rolls as separate from dinner because they arrive first, but multiple servings with butter can add the equivalent of another substantial menu item before the entrée reaches the table.
Texas Roadhouse Calories and Daily Calorie Needs
Texas Roadhouse prints the standard statement that 2,000 calories per day is used for general nutrition advice, but individual calorie requirements vary considerably.
Age, body size, sex and activity all affect energy requirements. Someone doing physical work or training heavily may require far more calories than a sedentary person with a smaller body size.
The purpose of this calculator is therefore not to declare that a particular meal is automatically good or bad. It gives you the numbers so you can compare the meal with your own goals and daily intake.
Texas Roadhouse Nutrition Accuracy
Texas Roadhouse uses an interactive nutrition portal powered by Nutritionix and states that its nutritional information is based on standardized recipes and ingredients.
The company also explains that food is made from scratch and by hand, which means there can be slight differences between published values and the food actually served.
This calculator adds the published nutrition values mathematically, but it cannot measure the exact portion placed on an individual plate.
For the latest restaurant information, check the Texas Roadhouse Nutrition Portal before relying on a value for medical or dietary purposes.
Texas Roadhouse Food Allergies
A nutrition calculator should not be used as an allergen checker. Calories, protein or carbohydrates do not tell you whether a meal is safe for a person with a food allergy.
Texas Roadhouse provides allergen information through its nutrition portal and asks guests to inform their server when someone in the party has a food allergy.
Anyone with a serious allergy should review the current allergen information and speak directly with restaurant staff about ingredients and cross-contact risk.

Eating at Texas Roadhouse With a Group
Appetizers and desserts are frequently shared, which means the nutrition for the entire menu item may not represent what one person actually eats.
For example, if four people split a 1,200-calorie dessert evenly, the approximate calorie contribution per person would be 300 calories. The same approach can be used for appetizers.
When the bill arrives, our Tip Calculator can also calculate the tip and split the restaurant bill between multiple people.

Final Thoughts
Texas Roadhouse is a good example of why calculating the complete restaurant meal is more useful than looking at the entrée alone. A 250-calorie sirloin can become a much larger meal after two sides, several rolls with butter, an appetizer and dessert are added.
The steak cut makes an especially large difference. Lean sirloin can provide a substantial amount of protein for relatively few calories, while ribeye and prime rib contain considerably more fat and calories. Chicken choices vary in the same way depending on whether the chicken is grilled, fried, smothered or served with cheese and sauce.
The calculator is most useful for comparing alternatives. Keep the same entrée and change the sides, compare a 6-ounce and 12-ounce steak, remove a serving of bread, switch the beverage or test the effect of sharing dessert. Seeing each component separately makes it much easier to understand where the calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates and sodium are coming from.
For the latest menu and allergen information, check Texas Roadhouse directly before ordering. Restaurant recipes and portions can change, and published nutrition should always be treated as an estimate rather than a measurement of the exact plate served at a particular location.
